Clare Smyth is the first female British chef to hold and retain three Michelin stars. Born in Northern Ireland, she grew up on a farm in County Antrim. The day after she left school at the age of 16, she moved to England to go to catering college in Portsmouth.
After working in Australia, America and Monaco, she took up her current post as head chef at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road in London. She was awarded an MBE in 2013.
